Yes, I'm at work this early AM. Do you want to know why? Well, I'm actually off from work tomorrow. I have a Saturday off. And I'm going to enjoy it...by sleeping and relaxing and enjoying my day off. Like normal people do on Saturdays.

4.12.11 update and inspiration

i feel like i've been going on "GO" for the past month and a half. and it's actually starting to feel like i have barely had a day off to chill, sleep and relax. even when there are "fun things" going on, it's always followed quickly with other important responsibilities. i LOVE being busy...but i would also love to sleep...and relax...and...yea, all of that good stuff.

but i can't complain much. it's better to be busy than stagnant.

on another note, i miss making art. like, a lot. so i enrolled in an online sketchbooking course and have bought myself some books to get inspired. i am hoping to get back into art as the weather gets a lot nicer. i am also trying to convince some friends of mine to start a weekly art group so that i feel responsible to do art with folks. that would be sweet.

speaking of getting back in gear, here's some inspiration lately around the interwebs:

i've been sick lately so i haven't really been in the mood to blog at all. it's also been pretty busy at work so mainly i've been sleeping and working and sleeping even more. i should have been taking pics of my outfits lately but i haven't. no time. and i haven't even had time to do fun stuff!

in short--there's a lot going on in my world and not enough time in the day to spend taking pics or blogging.

BUT! because i feel guilty when i don't blog, i decided to post a pic i am feeling lately.

yesterday marked my first day back at work and so i wore this outfit:

those gorgeous earrings were given to me by the boo's mom.

and it's also my new hat! it's a blue and purple version of the one i blogged about yesterday. i.love.this.hat. and someone on the elevator at my job complimented me on it and that completely made my day. i literally sit at home in my pj's with it on...that's how much i love it.

unfortunately, i have to rush this post. i'm spending the first day of the work week on a little shopping and lunch trip with my mom (i desperately need to purchase a brand spankin' new moleskin daily planner). i was going to do a catch up post with some pics of what i was up to while i was on my little break, but i just don't have time for that.

then i decided that since i wanted to spend some posts highlighting my awesome christmas gifts, that's how i would start the new year.

so viola:

i'm starting to look more and more like a gypsy everyday with all of the jewelry i have been wearing. sweet.

D's on hiatus

The boo complained about my lack of posting lately and my response was, "shut it!" It seems like the holidays took over full force and left me tired, stuffed, and pleasantly surprised by my mounds of gifts. I gotta give it to my family this year-i received some pretty amazing gifts that I just wasn't expecting.

I thought about featuring some of the goodies but there are just too many to do that. Gifts ranged from a new watch (from the boo), rainboots, books ("the joy of cooking" being one of them), a new ipod touch (my mom is amazing), lots of new jewelry (necklaces, earrings, bracelets), a gift card, coffee, socks, and more stuff...I also received some amazing "merry christmas" messages...my friends are simply wonderful. I hope the ones who didn't hear from me understand...

But in short, this post is both an apology and an ending to this crazy 2010 year. I apologize for being a terrible, no good blogger and lacking in my posts (disclaimer-the boo will be upset to read that but it's my last chance to say things like that b/c in the new year I will no longer be down on myself. Booyah, 2011!). This post is also a goodbye to the year 2010, which brought forth some wonderful things and some truly terrible things. If people knew the actuality of what I've gone through in 2010, they...idk...maybe their heads would explode..?

Anyway, my goal for this upcoming year is to be positive so I am going to start signing off all blog posts w/ 3 things I'm grateful for (I have to thank the boo's mom for that idea):

1. My family. And by family that includes all friends that I think of as family. All of you rock.
2. My boo. Enough said (otherwise, you will all scream "barf!").
3. My accessory collection. Including my brand spanking new h&m ring that I snapped a pic of for this post. Holler.

nyc marathon

if you follow me on twitter, you know that on sunday i spent part of my day out in the cold streets of nyc rooting on the marathoners. 

i was attempting to track my amazing friend, udee, on his run when i realized he was at mile 18...so we checked the map and figured out that if we ran from 93rd st on the west side to 96th street on the east side, we'd be able to catch him before he ran his final miles in the park.

confession: there's something about events like marathons/olympics/world series that make me kinda teary eyed. i think it's the idea that people train their whole lives (or for a year) for this one event and it means so much to them...idk...i'm weird.

anyway, after waiting for 10 minutes, the boo and i saw udee go by so i gave him a HUGE hug. we then waited an hour and a half to see the boo's friend...which was awesome because we saw tons of people go by...but when he finally came around 95th street, we walked with him for a few blocks into the park...he was in a lot of pain but i'm damn impressed he did it.

going to check out the runners might become by new yearly thing to do...

...but i might need to do another half marathon this year....
