random

random random random.
that's how i'm feeling today.

not really sure why but it doesn't really matter. i'm still feeling random.

so instead of piecing something together that is coherent, smart, articulate and grammatically correct (i'm not in the mood), i am going to shamelessly plug myself:

5 point magazine did a photoshoot with my art and created by fortune's accessories. damn, i am one lucky chick. you can check that out here.

i finally got around to uploading some stuff on my flickr. the best part is--the pics i scanned are all for the sketchbook project volume 4. i was inspired by the day of the dead so i plan on filling up the entire book with images from that. check out the 6 pages i've uploaded so far.

and finally, i love my twitter account....mainly because i can upload random pics of things...from my dog to these shoes. yes, these fabulous new shoes i uploaded to my twitter account. please feel free to follow me.

and finally--i just want to wish everyone a safe, fun and mischievous halloween. i'm not quite sure how a day can be safe and fun AND mischievous. but i plan on doing all of that. and then i plan on hitting up the marathon the next day to see my buddy, udee, run. GO UDEE!

fortune teller

you always hear me talk about how TALENTED my friends are, so here's the proof.

my chica, ex-roomie and college friend has a WONDERFUL line of accessories that i am dyingggggggg to have in my possession. we're talking earrings, sneakers, necklaces, headbands--i want it all! the one bracelet of hers that i got, my sister TOOK and now i am down to owning nothing.

sobbbbbbbb.

anyway, my boohoo story leads me to this...the created by fortune collection.

i'm not a converse girl, but i would wear them if mine were STUDDED.

i neeeeeeeeeeeed.

hello earrings. i want.

the next set of photos are from the created by fortune look book. UGHHHH i want it all.

when you get a chance, make sure you check out her website!

i (heart) nyc

N ew York, ny. i really do love thee...lol. some people took my last blog literally and thought i meant that i hate ny. no, i don't hate ny. i hate the weather that we have been experiencing all of 2009 here in ny. hot, cold, hot, cold. there's no middle ground. and did i mention--cold??? i feel like it'll warm up for a day..maybe two. then it's back to cold.

i've lived here in ny my whole entire life. whole life. from conception to now, this is the only place i've lived. i thoroughly enjoy it too...this is a place i can never get bored of and always find somewhere or something new to check out. from the bronx, the brooklyn, to queens, then to the LES, UWS, inwood. this city is amazing.

so here's my ode to NY...because i can never really hate it.

happy (official) bday, little peanut!!! (please go vote for him!)
when i'm not making stuff, i'm thinking of outfits to keep me warm. (i hate you, nyc!!!)

(lots and lots and lots of layers)
jacket - old navy, scarf - street vendor, shirt dress - f21, skirt - old navy, tights - h&m, shoes - payless, sweater - no name

more layers...but this is before it got really cold in nyc.
shrug, black dress/tank and tights - h&m, blue dress - aa, shoes - my sister gave them to me

that's really IT folks...i know...my life is so interesting....blahhhhhhh.

blogger spotlight

flashy stylista is my kind of chica--wild style (or as she would put it: "flashy"), big hair, lots of accessories. her blog inspires me every time i visit it. she not only shows her style, she shows her DIY projects and celebs that she admires. everyday when i open my google reader, i hope that she has posted something new for me to check out.

when i asked her if i could do a little interview with her for my blog, she was MORE than happy to do it. i was super geek'd! she not only took the time to email me, she even picked out some of her favorite pics for me to post. i totally owe her a little care package...i definitely promised her one as a huge thank you for her time.

here's what she had to say:

Name sahra
Age 29
Superpower: if i had super power it would be that i cant make people feel better when they feel down ,u know cheer them up take they mind from negative to positive
i hate when people feel sad and down!!
it might sound cheesy but that's the truth!!!
Why did you start blogging? well i used to look at all those fashion blogs :the fashion forward who copy/paste pictures from high fashion magazines
(wish i like dont get me wrong )and girls like karla, fashiontoast etc ...(who i read everyday aswell!)they have great style
but yet very sobre or more on the rock ,goth ,L.A. girl ,vintage side
and i was wondering where the people like me who dresses: 80's glam ,urban ,goth ,rock ,colorful with a lot of blings and accessorizes like me???
so i thought why not show my style !not that it's better than the other but different !!hate it or love it you will notice me for sure
plus don't forget the fact that i'm not small girl so i wanted to show that you don't have to be a size zero to be fashionnable
and if my style inspires at least one person i'm happy!!!
What was your style like when you were younger? i grow up in a low middle class raise up by by a single mum so it was hard to get the latest clothes but she always use to do her best
so i was in style but not wearing the latest items !! one time though i remember for my 13 birthday my mum bought me the PATRICK EWING SNEAKERS
wish were so hot at the time!!!otherwise it was timberland(fake of course)wide pants jeans very hip hop 90's
then when i got in my 20's i was more feminine i was making my own money so it was easier ,i was shopping at h&m ,zara and stuff.... wich i shop to this day
so yeah gone from tomboy to very girly!
What's the inspiration behind your outfits and DIY projects? everything that surrounds me ,people on the streets ,blog, pictures ,magazines
What's your favorite accessory? omg i have so many that i can't choose but i can say the few i really like :door knockers earrings, studded accessorizes(belt, purse, shoes)
If you didn't have to work, what would you love to do all day with your time? well it would be styling people all day everyday !! i'd love that
What's the most fashionable place you've ever visited? LONDON is defenetely the best place i ever visited you can find anything you want or imagine
but i gotta admit that for the last few year NYC really stepped up to the plate getting european brand over there might have help it!
not that american brands aren't nice but now i find that theres more different influences wich makes it better!!
How do your friends inspire you? to tone it down a lil bit , not to go so wild with my style!hahhaha
i dont really think it as to do with my friends but more to do with where i live !!
if i was living in nyc or london for example i know i would go more crazy with my syle
What blogs do you visit often? cobrasnake, karls closet, dty, stylesighthing, nitrolicius
What are your favorite online places to shop? asos ,topshop, melody ehsani, hellodrama

THANK YOU, flashy stylista, for the interview!!!

my friends kick ass (again!)

more emails from my friends that make me laugh.

after my post about flamingo's the other day, i opened my inbox to see this flamingo rubber band from rain. he's hilarious for sending it to me. (as an aside--i wish rain lots of luck today...he knows why i'm saying that).

and just today, my cousin emails me this pic. the body of the email had 3 words--"dude dude DUDE." this is the best cake EVER. i desperately want one for my bday this year! do you think carvel can do it so i can get the crunchies on the inside too?!?!? yum yum yum.

ONE LAST THING!

please go on the this website and VOTE FOR MY NEPHEW for the gap kids casting call!! he's the cutest little kid....seriously. and please help spread the word!

happy wednesday everyone!!!
