i have a serious obsession with red lips.

this summer i will be rocking red lipstick.

i've been thinking about doing a giveaway recently and then csn stores offered to sponsor a giveaway to one very lucky reader. csn stores has some amazing home goods ranging from a sleeper sofa, to bedroom goods, to purses, etc and one lucky reader will have the opportunity to spend $40 on anything they want.

personally, i would put my money towards one of the following:

it's spring time in nyc and i definitely need a new clutch!

totally gaudy. i love it. plus--i need more boxes to hold my jewelry!

the gardener in me neeeeeds both of these!

they have over 200 stores to choose something from. i literally got lost browsing through their products for about an hour thinking about all of the stuff that i want.

so sorry--my camera is still very much so out of commission since i can't find the freaking battery charger! grrrrrrrr.

btw--i am a lostie so i spent my sunday watching 5 and a half hours of lost! and can i just say that it was the most beautiful way to end the series. i've been thinking about writing a little sumthin' sumthin' about it later this week after i've digested it all (and watched it again...lol).

but for now--i have the SUPER cool surprise for all of you tomorrow at 10am!

today marks the birthday of someone especially dear to my heart. she's more than my sister--she's always been a friend, a mentor, someone to look up to and the most stylish person i know. we've always looked out for each other and she's the only person who really knows how to make me laugh when i need it. and that is why i needed to devote an entire blog post to her.

now, i tried to find some great pics of us and unfortunately came up short. could it be that we haven't taken any recent pics in the last year or so? i MUST remedy that.

D's friday favs

today's friday fav's is inspired by typography that i've seen around on some of my favorite blogs:

mainly because i've been practicing my own type. that's the art school nerd in me. i wanna have a type style...

and here we have it, the friday fill in the blank from the little things we do! it's my favorite thing about friday!!

1.  One fashion trend I really regret is      shrugs! idk what i was thinking when they were in style and why the hell i wore them...totally NOT for my body type   .

2.  The one thing that always completes any outfit is      massive amounts of accessories. from bracelets, to earrings, to rings and necklaces. i like to layer it all .

3.  I would describe my personal style as       hippie meets tom boy meets hipster (but not really) meets girly. i'm a mix of stuff   .

4.  My fashion muse is         gwen stefani--she's a mix of a lot of fashion styles and so much more    .

5.  If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be     one?!? crap, i have no idea!   .

6.  I would love to raid the wardrobe of      nicole richie and gwen stefani and mary kate/ashley olson and...   .

7.  Today I am wearing      a strapless short dress, a cardigan and my (fake doc marten) pink boots...and some red lipstick! that i took off already...lol      .

have a wonderful, spectacular, lovely weekend!! so happy the weather is nicer in nyc.

lately, the idea of red lipstick has been...intriguing to me. i'm not a lipstick person AT ALL--i think my lips are way too big to have color on them. but red lips just look hot on people.

so while i was searching around in rite aid for the perfect stuff to use on my hair (all natural products, please!) i stopped infront of the lipsticks. with so many to choose from and no guarantee that i would use it al the time, i wondered if i should...

...so i did...

i love photobooth!

The only problem might be that I'm too short for them. *sad face!*

I'm going to try and rock them but if it's not working, they'll have to go straight to another shoe size 8 person taller than 5'2. It would be a shame though.

So...this is what happens when your boo takes over your laptop-you post from your phone.
And the pic is a perfect example of what happens when your dog decides that she needs attention in the middle of you doing artwork.
Great.
But this is why I have a blackberry-so that I can do things like check the internet and post blogs and gchat.
And this is why I have a dog--to make sure I don't spend too much time making artwork. D'oh. Did I just say that?

D's list

because my camera is not turning on and i wasn't able to snap ANY pics this weekend at laureluxe's bday party and now i'm all depressed because i had on the CUTESTTTTTT outfit and my girls were looking hot.as.hell.

urghhh.

yea, i'm annoyed. 

so i'm going to write a list...

1. the above pic of calvin and hobbes is genius.
2. my room is constantly and always a hot mess. i'll clean it and it'll remain that way for a day before it's just in total disarray again. i blame it on all of my art supplies and clothes.
3. email is my favorite form of communication. i hate hate hate the phone.
4. when i was younger, i had a book full of my favorite quotes. i worked really hard at finding some awesome quotes--mainly from books i read or sayings i heard. i have no idea where that book is but i wish i had it now.
5. i created a book of my absolute favorite outfits and clothes items from magazines that i like to reference when i need outfit ideas. now i also use my tumblr for that.
6. people think i have a "do-gooder" job...maybe i'm just too exhausted to realize that...
7. sushi is one of my favorite meals.
8. i let my dog sleep on the bed. that's because when she was around a year old, she broke her little leg and i felt terrible! she used to knock me in the head at night with her cast. i still laugh about that to this day.
9. i think my nephew is the coolest kid in the planet. i don't care that for the longest time, i thought he hated me. he's just that cool.
10. back in college i shocked my friends and family by helping to start a national sorority on the campus of our school. reflecting back on the experience, i think it was the only thing that connected me to school and i'm grateful for the wonderful women i met during the process.
11. family and the boo are number one. ONE!
12. i love lists.

4.  I squeeze my toothpaste from       the end. yea, idk   .

5.  My absolute favorite "comfort food" is     ice cream and beer!   .

6.  A random fact about me is that      i carry around a million books--my planner, 2 sketchbooks, a sudoku book, a small sketchbook, and whatever book i'm reading at the time   .

7.  The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is      my cell phone! it's my life      .
